Veggie « fish » salad

The magical formula to have fish taste in your vegetarian salads

Why on earth would you have your vegetarian salads with the taste of fish ? Why not ?! It is also a great idea for those transitioning into a vegetarian diet.

It is quite common for vegetarians to reproduce certain « meaty or fishy » tastes ^^

I also realized that it comes handy during family gatherings as it reduces the social anxiety of being vegetarian or vegan. Since a dish with a « meaty or fishy » flavor seems more approachable to those who are not vegetarian : it offers a sense of familiarity.

Here is the recipe !

Ingredients :

  • 1 chicory
  • 1 cucumber
  • 2 Nori seaweed
  • 2 radishes
  • Black olives (as per your taste)
  • 2 small pears
  • 1 full salad
  • 1 shallot or onion
  • 150 g of feta
  • 1 tbsp of flax seeds (optional)
  • 1 tbsp of sunflower seeds (optional)

Preparation

  • Wash your salad, dry it and cut the leaves into a bowl
  • Cut your cucumbers, pears, radishes, shalots, chicory and put them into the same bowl
  • Cut your seaweed with your hands then add it to the salad
  • Mix all ingredients together in the bowl
  • Add both black olives and feta cheese
  • Add the vinaigrette of your choice to the bowl. BE CAREFUL, add your vinaigrette only when you are sure to have your salad right way, otherwise you may burn all the ingredients with the vinaigrette’s acidity, which will leave an unfresh salad.
  • This is optional but you can add your seeds to bring more texture to your salad and a bit of a decoration 😉
